A Major Setback

Ok, so things didn't go so well. I've been having problems with my feet and I was told I have plantar faciitis. So that makes it really hard to work out. I need to get new tennis shoes and they are $140!!! So I have to figure out what I'm going to do. This has not helped my weight loss at all since I've done nothing but sit around and eat poorly. Uggggg!

New Beginnings

I haven't posted since last October. Since then, I've had some ups and downs - mostly my weight going up!! I did very well with my eating and workouts after the Get Fit 4 Christ program ended, but then I got off track. My Grandmother passed away and I didn't get into the gym for over 2 weeks. After that, my motivation was gone and it's been very difficult to get back into the groove of working out and planning meals. I've decided to pull up my previous posts, see what I've done right and try to kickstart my program. Hopefully, I'll make the same positive changes I did before!

Weekend Update

Well, this is the last post for the Get Fit 4 Christ program! I'm very happy with the outcome, although I only lost about 6 or 7 pounds. My daughter was home and took my measurements and I've lost a total of 4 inches off my waist! I'm really excited about that because that's been a real problem area for me. While I understand that you can't lose weight in spots - you have to lose all over - it's been very difficult for me to lose weight in my stomach area. That's where I gain it first and lose it last.

I was not able to go on the 5K walk, but I did make my Killer Core class on Saturday. My daughter went with me and she thought it was very challenging. She's very athletic, so if it was hard for her, it was pretty hard. I was sore after class (as usual), but I felt better by the next day. It seems like we always target different muscles, so something different hurts each time.

Saturday, we went to a baby shower and I ate a few things I shouldn't have, like pasta salad (with meat), tuna salad and a little soda. I only ate very small portions and just had a 1/2 glass of soda. Afterwards my daughter wanted fried chicken wings for dinner (college students), so we had that and some rice-a roni and I made me some brussel sprouts. The chicken smelled so good, but I ate my rice and brussel sprouts first so I wouldn't eat so much chicken. I ended up only eating two wings and I pulled the skin off (my daughter tried to eat the skin off my plate, but I wouldn't let her). On Sunday, I made a ham, sweet potatoes, greens and home made rolls. I only had 2 slices of ham, one helping of potatoes, no greens and two rolls. I did have a couple glasses of sweet tea. But it's OK, because Sunday is my free day.

If anyone is reading this, thanks for watching my progress. Writing about it really helps! I plan to continue eating right, exercising and getting more water and vitamins.

Wednesday 10/7/09 Meals

Breakfast: Banana, grape juice, coffee, oatmeal
Snack: None
Lunch: Progresso Chicken and wild rice soup, pineapples tidbits, water
Snack: Slimfast
Dinner:Teriyaki salmon, mixed veggies, spinach, 2 wheat rolls, & sweet tea

My 45 min Rock Bottom Class was cancelled, so instead I did 30 minutes on the elliptical, 4 sets of 10 lat raises, 2 sets of 10 arm curls and the 1 hour Killer Core class (yea me)! I was starving when I got home, so luckily I had the salmon planned and it was thawed by the time I jumped out of the shower. It's great having meals you can throw together quickly. The ultimate fast food!

Tuesday 10/6/09 Meals

Breakfast: Banana, oatmeal, fruit yogurt
Snack: Slimfast
Lunch: Garlic shimp with pasta and vegetables
Snack: Trailmix
Dinner: Veggie thin crust pizza and water

Went to the Y for class and realized I was there at the wrong time! Instead of leaving and coming back, I decided to jump on the elliptical and went for 30 minutes! I burned 300 calories! The most I've ever done at one time is 15 minutes. I also did 4 sets of 10 lat pull downs and 20 arm curls.
